Description Directions

The capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. The whole country is divided into 10 sections. Each division is again divided into districts, districts into upazilas, upazilas into unions, unions into mouzas, mouzas into villages and villages into neighborhoods. In addition, there are a number of hats> 'weekly market' and ganj> 'small size port'. Some places, including the administrative centers of these different types of units, have now taken the shape of cities due to their commercial importance. The town is divided into wards, police stations and mahallas. There is either road, rail or sea communication from one city to another. In addition, air links have been established between several major cities. From those roads, some local bypasses have touched one village after another. If you have a preliminary idea about which places to visit in which parts of Bangladesh, which routes are easy to reach there and what kind of public facilities exist, there will be no more obstacles in going out. The following chapters were written keeping in view this need. However, the divisions are arranged in the center of the capital Dhaka (with a few exceptions) in incremental circles (clockwise) and end in a part close to the center of the circle.

বাংলাদেশের রাজধানী ঢাকা। গোটা দেশ ১০টি বিভাগে বিভক্ত। প্রতিটি বিভাগ আবার জেলা, জেলাগুলো উপজেলা, উপজেলাগুলো ইউনিয়ন, ইউনিয়নগুলো মৌজা, মৌজাগুলো গ্রাম এবং গ্রামগুলো পাড়ায় বিভক্ত। এর পাশাপাশি রয়েছে কিছু সংখ্যক হাট> ‘সাপ্তাহিক বাজার’ ও গঞ্জ> ‘ছোট আকারের বন্দর’। এসব বিভিন্ন ধরনের ইউনিটের প্রশাসনিক কেন্দ্রগুলোসহ কিছু কিছু স্থান ব্যবসায়িক গুরুত্বের দরুন বর্তমানে শহরের আকৃতি ধারণ করেছে। শহরে রয়েছে ওয়ার্ড, থানা ও মহল্লা বিভক্তি। একটি শহর থেকে অপর শহরের হয় সড়ক, নয়তো রেল অথবা নৌ-যোগাযোগ বিদ্যমান। এ ছাড়া বড় বড় ক’টি শহরের মধ্যে বিমান যোগাযোগও স্থাপিত হয়েছে। সেসব পথের থেকে স্থানীয় কিছু উপপথ এঁকেবেঁকে ছুঁয়ে গেছে এক গ্রামের পর আরেক গ্রাম। বাংলাদেশের কোন্ কোন্ প্রান্তে কোন্ বেড়ানর জায়গাটি রয়েছে, কোন্ পথে সেখানে পৌঁছা সহজ এবং কোথায় কী ধরনের গণসুবিধা বিদ্যমান এ বিষয়গুলো সম্পর্কে একটা প্রাথমিক ধারণা থাকলে বেড়াতে বেরিয়ে পড়ার ক্ষেত্রে আর বাধা থাকবে না। এ প্রয়োজনটির প্রতি লক্ষ রেখেই পরবর্তী অধ্যায়গুলো রচিত হলো। তবে বিভাগগুলো সাজান হয়েছে রাজধানী ঢাকাকে কেন্দ্র করে (সামান্য ব্যতিক্রম মেনে নিয়ে) ক্রমবর্ধিত বৃত্তাকারে ((clockwise> ‘দক্ষিণাবর্ত’) এবং শেষ করা হয়েছে সে বৃত্ত-কেন্দ্রের একটি কাছাকাছি অংশে।
